Grand Canyon, Arizona, USA

I like this beautiful picture of the Grand Canyon. The canyon is only a couple of hours from my house so we took a drive there last weekend. We spent 2 days  visiting the various overlooks and taking lots of photos. What a magnificent sight.! There were visitors from all over the world of all ages and speaking many different languages.

I was thinking of how fortunate I was to live so close to one of the 7 wonders of the world. But when I stopped to think about it, my decision to live in Arizona came a long time ago, maybe many years ago. I wasn’t born here, I was born and raised in Minnesota and I have lived in 3 other states in the USA. I have also traveled  extensively to many parts of the world.

We make decisions about our lives that hopefully move us forward in a new direction. Then with each passing year we can look back and reflect on how far we have progressed. Sometimes we hear about an actor or actress who become famous after making a hit movie. We often refer to them as an ‘overnight success.’ But in reality, if we take a look at their background and all the years leading up to making the movie, we will see that few people are really overnight successes. They probably worked years at their craft before anyone even knew or cared who they were.

The same is true with internet marketing. Seemingly out of the blue we hear of yet another internet marketing overnight success.  We often hear of someone online who tells his story of success and how he was struggling for years before he discovered ‘the secret.’

I’ve read many of these stories and I do believe them. I mean I believe the part about them struggling for years. From my experience I can tell you that there are ‘no overnight successes’ in online marketing. These people who have raised themselves to the status of guru who are now able to teach others their methods certainly deserve praise.  I know they have been in the trenches for a while learning from experts and putting the time and money into learning online marketing until they reach a certain level of success. In my estimation they have done at least 4 things right.

1. They had the right mindset to succeed.

2. They put in the necessary Time, Money, and Effort.

3. They learned from experts who were already successful doing what they wanted to do.

4. They were involved with something they loved to do.

Yes, I have lived many places and today I live near the Grand Canyon. But it took many years and many moves to bring me to where I am today. The same is true with my internet marketing business. Every job and every class and every product  I have learned from has helped to prepare me for this business online. And every day I am learning more. We just never stop growing and expanding to become who we were meant to be.

I am writing a little bit of my success story each day by the actions I am taking towards my goals.  Some day it will be published in it’s entirety and I will be what some may call ‘an overnight success.’

The following are a few ideas to help you with your own success story.

Manage your daily routine by  setting specific goals.

Avoid overwhelm and distractions. Focus on money making goals.

Set up a daily and weekly schedule and stick to it. Decide how many hours a day you will spend online. Create balance in your life.

Set short and long term goals such as how many articles  you want to write and submit in a week. How many blog posts? How many forums are you visiting each week? Decide your medium and long term goals as well. How many products do you want to promote and sell in 30 days. What is your target income goal for your marketing efforts?

Always keep your long term goal in mind. Such as how many websites you would like to place online in the next 6 months to a year. What is your goal income to reach in the next 6 months to a year?

Remember to take some daily action steps in each of these areas for short term and long term success. And continue each day to add another chapter to your success story:)
