Evolution of an Online Business
As your business develops and you make changes or improvements to it, the business evolves one step at a time into a unique creation that is truly your own. I see this evolution as an important process for developing your own unique business and not some cookie cutter replica like so many others. It’s that unique creation that will set you apart from other businesses.
In the development of your business it’s also important to discover your own core values, the big “why” for starting your business.
The “why” for your business is what drives you to succeed. The “why” is the motivation that will inspire you to continue when things get tough or when creative juices are running dry. It’s the big “why” that keeps you going. It’s the reason you can see the vision or light at the end of the tunnel before anyone else can see it.
It’s the “why” inside of you that you return to that helps you to make sense of it in times of chaos, or times of lack of faith.
The last few weeks in John Thornhill’s Masterclass, has been a lesson of soul searching and self awareness. We are working on defining our niche. For me this was a step in getting to the core of why I wanted to start a business in the first place.
My desire for my business comes from that place of wanting to create a lifestyle doing what I love to do. I’ve spent most of my life studying personal development and I like sharing my knowledge with others. I also enjoy writing so that is an excellent way to communicate what I know. I also like to research and for the past year, I have researched internet marketing.
So when it came to defining a niche, my first thought was to promote internet marketing and to help others to get started online. Well, this is an idea that millions of others are working on at this moment. So was I just going to be another marketer in a sea of IMer’s? How could I make my approach to IM original and more my own?
The answer to this question came out of the sheer love of what I do everyday; studying about personal development and successful people, and wanting to share what I know to help improve other peoples’ lives. I knew I wanted to inspire people to find their own passion and to take it online and make it profitable.
That is when I decided to rename my blog “Inspired Life Entrepreneur.”
The second step in the evolution of my business was to take a look at my site and determine what now needs to be changed to be consistent with my main theme of inspiring people to live out their passion and creating a lifestyle for themselves online.
Let me say that this is still a work in progress. I will be making small changes continually to improve and develop my site and I will share that knowledge with my readers.
Let me just recap 3 ideas I shared with you today:
Let your business evolve through changes and improvements. Create a business that is unique and truely your own.
Discover your “why” for starting your business. Make it strong enough to help you through and motivate you to keep going until you succeed.
Do you have a passion for your chosen niche? Does it inspire you so you can inspire others with your products or services?
I am also in the process of writing a book that will inspire people to define their passion and to find a way to profit with it online as an “inspired life entrepreneur.”
Til the next time…
Be Inspired:-)
