Why Have a Blog?
I recently set up this blog and I wish I had set it up a long time ago. A blog is a great way to introduce yourself, your business, and your interests to the world and to share information with others who are interested in your topic.
Also, as a shopper online, I look for information about the marketer so I know who I’m buying from. I look for a picture, a story or other information so I know a little about who is promoting the product.
You really should beware of websites that have no contact information such as an email, support link, phone number or business name etc.
As a marketer online, you may have several websites promoting a variety of products. The blog is then used as a vehicle to bring all of your products or websites together. You can promote your blog URL that includes your About Me page and a list of all or most of the products that you promote.
The blog can also be used like a newsletter. When people sign up to be on your blog list, they will receive an email with the link to your blog whenever you have updates to your posts. Your blog visitors can easily keep up with what’s going on in your world or on the subject that you write about.
I received some sound advice from the Founder of Global NPN, Geoff Stephen; he says, ‘sell yourself first, then recommend your products.’
That is an excellent reason to have a blog.

Hi Ann
This is a good post with an important point – sell yourself first. You have a very nice blog and I wish you well in your endeavors.
Totally agree – a lot of people are pushing prodcuts and not themsleves/stories.
As the main bulk of traffic at the moment will be fellow masterclass students tell a story not sell a product that no one is going to buy – yet.

Hi Ann!
My name is Susan May and I am a fellow member of John Thornhill’s Marketing Masterclass and I just wanted to let you know I stopped by and I really like your blog! The concept of selling yourself before you try to sell your products really hit home for me and is actually some great advice! I am eager to come back to see what else you have to say!
“see ya” in class!
